The Case for Universal, Single-Payer Health Care

Everybody in. Nobody out.

-86.7 million people, or about one in three Americans under 65, were without health care insurance in 2007 and 2008.

-Health care related costs are the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the US

--68% of people who go bankrupt due to health care expenses had insurance when they declared bankruptcy.
Why is our health care system so inadequate? The answer is simple: profit. We pay through the nose for substandard care, and executives reap the benefits. As Concress debates reform, they should be saying profiteering has o place in health care. But they're not. Let's talk about what universal health care would look like and how to get Congress to stop talking about band-aid reforms for a broken system.

We need universal, single-payer health care for all!
